          Topic: Talking about some food

          Teaching background

          There is a variety of food in our daily life. People can not live without food. Everyday our human beings need to eat a lot of food to make us healthy, such as rice, vegetables, meat, noodles, bread, and some other snacks. Food is very important to us. Today we will talk about some names of food .

          Teaching Aims

          1. Knowledge & Ability

          Students will be able to master the names of some food, and can skillfully use some common expressions about food , and know about food cultures.

          2. Process & Method

          Students will learn to cooperate with partners by finishing some oral tasks .

          3. Emotion, Attitude & Value

             Students will be interested in the tasks and have the confidence during the tasks. Through the cooperation, students will obtain the sense of responsibility and strengthen the awareness of team spirit.

          Teaching Difficulties

            1. The names of some common food and the expressions related to food.

            2. To improve the students’ oral English skills.

          Teaching procedures

          Step I.  Organizing teaching

          1. Greet the whole class and review the contents of last period together.

          2. Show students a flash of a TV show http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMTYyMjI5OTA4.html,  try to let them guess the topic of this class today.

          Step II. New contents:

          1.     Lead—in

          Today we will learn about some food. Food is very important to our human beings. Without food, people cannot live. Here I have downloaded some pictures about food and drinks from the Internet. Please watch them carefully and then try to describe them each other in your own simple English and list some useful words, expressions and sentences about the topic.Then show the pictures on the screen and ask students to tell the names of these delicious food

          2. Show students some pictures about food and drinks one by one, and encourage students to tell their names and try to describe them to the class freely.

          3. Ask students to do the exercise of part one on page 38.Encourage students to do the match by themselves. Then check the answers as a whole.

          Today we learn some useful words , expressions and sentence patterns about how to describe our familiar food and drinks . I hope everyone can use them freely. Ok, this class is over, let’s have a short break.  .
